Ashtanga vinyasa yoga – first series
Composed of an exact order of positions (asanas). The asanas follow one after the other in a fluid sequence.
When practicing, the ujjayi breathing technique is used – breathing via the vocal passages. The practice of this type of breathing results in an increase of the intensity and power of the experience.
An integral part of practicing the positions, which should be held statically for 5 breaths, are the so-called drishti – points of view that help calm the mind.
